In Scotland, Scottish Country Dances have been handed down for generations over the centuries, from teacher to teacher, from musician to musician, within families and clans. Today, after so many generations, they are a real element of “social art”.
The Circolo Pugliese, a local section of the Società di Danza affiliated with the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society of Edinburgh, revives these dances by studying them during the weekly meetings and proposing them in special events.
